Lanny Ernest Dambaugh

Lanny Ernest Dambaugh, of South Branch Mountain Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2020 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on March 25, 1945 in New Castle, PA, he was a son of the late Ernest Barkley Dambaugh and Madiline Millie McDaniel Dambaugh.

A hobby gunsmith, he was a firearms instructor and armory technician having served with the Fairfax County Police for 20 years and the Loundon County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years before retiring. After retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors, riding around on his ATV, fishing and bowhunting, anything that was outside.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Nancy Ann Johnson Dambaugh; a daughter, Jill Dambaugh of Sterling, VA; a son, Jeff Dambaugh of Sterling, VA; two sisters, Marlene Jankel of Holly Springs, NC and Darlene Stephey of  Fuquay-Varina,NC; and a brother, Terry Dambaugh of Slippery Rock, PA.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the Olivet Cemetery.
