Karl Delbert “Spike” Myers, Sr., age 84 of Williams Street, Moorefield, WV passed away Saturday morning, April 20, 2019 at his residence with his family at his side. Born on February 15, 1935 in Hardy Co., WV, he was a son of the late Robert Isaac Myers and Ida Susan Reel Myers. He was preceded in death by a son, David Myers, a sister and six brothers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a 32nd degree Mason at the Moorefield Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. and had retired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Hardy County Sheriff’s Office.
Surviving is his loving wife of almost 56 years, Nancy A. Jenkins Myers; a son, Karl D. “Little Spike” (wife Minnie) Myers, Jr. of Johnstown, PA; a daughter, Kelly Myers Crawford of Moorefield, WV; four brothers, Rodger Myers of Fairfax, VA, Delmas Myers, Riley Myers and Louie (wife Debbie) Myers all of Moorefield, WV; three sisters, Norma Hines, Lauretta Wilson and Cozetta (husband Eddie) Evans all of Moorefield, WV; five grandchildren, Justin, McKenzie, Stephanie, Marcus & Carson; a great-grandson and four great-granddaughters in addition to nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St, with Carson Crawford as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:00 Am until time of services. Military Honors will be Accorded by the U.S. Army. At his request, his remains have been donated to the WV Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV.
