Juanita Mable Baker, age 80 of Winchester Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 15, 2020, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on November 2, 1939, in Hardy Co., WV, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Crites and Eula Grace Eye Crites. Her husband of 62 years, Melvin Edward Baker, Sr. preceded her in death in September 2019. A grandson, Joshua R. Baker, brothers, Kenneth J. Crites & John A. Crites and sisters, Eleanor M. Crites & Ellen Henry also preceded her in death. Juanita enjoyed cooking, especially for her family as they were her world.
Surviving are three sons, Melvin “Bud” (Judy) Baker, II of Fisher, WV, Rick A. (Patti) Baker of Old Fields, WV, Chris (Angie) Baker of Fisher, WV; a daughter, Barb L. Stickley (Jerry Haggerty) of Old Fields, WV; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Crites of Maysville, WV and Bruce (Polly) Crites of Moorefield, WV and five sisters, Wanda Jean Crites of Manassas, VA, Leeanna Hambleton of Winchester, VA, Phyllis (Neal) Taylor of Purgitsville, WV, Margaret (Bob) Dayton of Lahmansville, WV and Joan (Don) Simmons of Arthur, WV.
Graveside Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the Walnut Grove Gardens, Route 55 East of Moorefield, WV, with Pastor Gary Shirk officiant. Interment will follow services.
