Joyce Marie Virts

Joyce Marie Virts, age 73 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday afternoon, December 7, 2020 at her residence. Born on February 5, 1947 in Leesburg, VA, she was a daughter of James Mortimore McCauley and Frances Maye Sample McCauley.

First and foremost, Joyce loved Jesus and she loved her neighbors. Spending time with or talking to, even if for just a few minutes, her precious grandchildren, son and daughter, and sisters always brought a heart-melting smile to her face.  Her compassion and generosity towards anyone she met earned her many lifelong friends, many of which kept in touch with her until her last days.  Finally, she saved a very special place in her heart for all her dogs she cared for over many decades.  Her #1 hobby was just being herself, which blessed many souls, both 2-legged and 4-legged ones.

Surviving is a daughter, Ginger Woodward of Winchester, VA; a son, Kevin M. Virts of Prior Lake, MN; two sisters, Marjorie “Polly” Flinn of Moorefield, WV and Charlotte Frye of Franklin, NC and four grandchildren.

At Joyce’s request, there will be no public services.
