John Alan Fazenbaker, age 69 of Shockey Road, Old Fields, WV went to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2019 at his residence with his family at his side after a heartfelt battle with cancer. Born on May 12, 1949 in Keyser, WV, he was a son of the late John Ellsworth Fazenbaker and Naomi Pearl Hitt Fazenbaker. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam war, was a member of the Denny-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W., a member of the NRA and had retired from the security department at Western Maryland Health System.
Surviving is his loving wife of 18 years, Laura M. (Seames) Fazenbaker; a son, Michael Fazenbaker of Cumberland, MD; two daughters, Ann Marie Gomez of Texas and Stefanie Broadway (husband Asia) of LaVale, MD; a step-son, Matthew Baker (wife Corinna) of Grand Blanc, MI; a sister, Ellen Lewis (husband Steve) of Cumberland, MD; four grandchildren, Kaelynn, Kaiya, Kaden and Everleigh and several nieces and nephews. John was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Sterns officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites Accorded by the U.S. Army and the Moorefield Veteran’s Honor Guard at Smith-Evans Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Baker, Shaun Lewis, Wade Lewis, Mark Hitt, Shane Brown and Bill Stewart.
