Jesse "June" Columbus Parsons, Jr.

Jessie “June” Columbus Parsons, Jr., age 83 of South Fork Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, March 16, 2021 at his residence with his family at his side. Born on July 15, 1937 in the Dorcas area of Grant County, WV, he was the son of the late Jessie Columbus Parsons, Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Shoemaker Parsons. His wife, Lola Betty Helmick Parsons preceded him in death in April 2007.

June, as he was known to everyone, was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting (deer & turkey) but loved to spring gobbler hunt the most, every Spring when he was able. Not only did he work for American Woodmark for 19 ½ years but was a carpenter for 55+ years.

Surviving is a son, Robert L. “Bobby” Parsons of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Paul David Parsons of Petersburg, WV; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

Graveside Services will be conducted 2:30 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Becky Bennet officiant. Interment will follow.

Memorials may be directed to the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Co.-46, 114 Kuykendall Lane, Moorefield, WV 26836.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, wearing of masks and social distancing will be observed at the cemetery.
