Janet Asenath Sindy

Janet Asenath Sindy, age 88 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, June 10, 2004, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born August 8, 1915 in Moorefield, WV she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo F. & Sallie (May) Sindy. A brother, Raymond B. Sindy, preceded her in death. Janet started her working career with the Hardy County Motor Company in Moorefield in 1932 and then to Keyser when they moved. She started her long career with the South Branch Valley National Bank in 1944 and retired in 1993 after 49 years. She worked as a teller, then later as a Trustee and eventually she became a member of the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church for 80 years and was a member and former Secretary/Treasurer & Historian of the South Branch Valley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving is a sister, Eunice Sindy Krebs of Charleston, WV; a niece, Deborah Sindy Suttle of Omaha, NE and a nephew, John R. Locke of Greensboro, NC. Funeral Services were conducted Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church in Moorefield with the Rev. Ted Osgood officiating. Interment followed at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield. Memorials may be directed to the Hardy County Public Library, 102 N. Main St., Moorefield, WV 26836.
