James Richard ?Pud? Evans, age 84 of Rohrbaugh Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born November 14, 1927 at Rig, WV, he was the son of the late James Franklin ?Ted?? and Suella B. (Henry) Evans. Two sisters, a brother and a grandson preceded him in death. He was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Agnes E. (Hawse) Evans; three daughters, Nancy (Jack) Taylor and Debbie (Dan) Poling of Moorefield, WV and Kathy (Michael) Snyder of Fisher, WV; a sister, Barbara Sue Cornell of Laurel, MD; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Russel & Lucy Webster and Michael Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at the Newhouse Cemetery, Rig, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. ?Pud? was a car salesman known to all, but began his working career at the Potomac Farms Cheese Plant in Moorefield and later became a milk truck driver. He left the milk truck to work for Frosty McAdams then on to ?Lefty? Schell?s garage. In 1955 he found a home with A. J. Ludwick selling cars and stayed there until 1972. He then had terms selling cars for Hine?s & Malcolm Chevrolet, Trenton Motors and Veach?s Motors returning to work with A. J. Ludwick in 1993 through 2003. His last stop was with Roy Haggerty and then Debbie Crites where daily he would be until just weeks ago. ?Pud? for the most part has spent his life around cars!
