Jack V. Tiernan

Jack V. Tiernan, age 92 of Charleston, WV, passed away December 9, 2003 in Norfolk, VA after a short illness. Born October 1, 1911 in Louisa, KY he was a son of the late Dixie Lee Tiernan and Fred Haskell Tiernan. He was a photographer for 21 years with Charleston Newspapers, Inc. He was a veteran of the US Army of WWII. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Anne Tiernan. Surviving is a daughter Dixie Bean and husband Oscar Bean of Moorefield, WV; a son, William Tiernan of Norfolk, VA; four grandchildren, Jack M. Tiernan of Clemmons, NC; Dr. Sarah Bean of Birmingham, AL; Erin Tiernan of Richmond, VA and Sally Bean of Lansing, MI and a niece, Betty Jo Johnson of Preinceton, WV. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2003 at the Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the J.E. Johnson Funeral Home in Kanawaha City, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Library Foundation, Kanawaha County Public Library-Audio Fund, 123 Capitol Street, Charleston, WV 25301
