Iva Catherine Haggerty

Iva Catherine Haggerty, age 90 of Purgitsville, WV, passed away Monday afternoon, November 3, 2014 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born December 26, 1923 in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late Howard Washington Sions and Mae Minnie (Weatherholtz) Sions. A Moorefield High School graduate of 1942, she was a member of the Mountain View Community Church. Her husband, Willie O. Haggerty preceded her in death in April 1993. Four grandsons, a granddaughter, three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Willie O. Bill & Nancy Haggerty of Purgitsville, WV and Charles H. Sonny & Joanne Haggerty of New Market, VA; four daughters, Betty E. & Norman High of Purgitsville, WV, Bonnie H. Haggerty & H.L. Wilson of Moorefield, WV, Barbara J. & Dan Gorenflo of Purgitsville, WV and Janet F. & Jim Flinn of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Victor Sions of Junction, WV; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Andy Sions officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 -8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
