Iona Della Bergdoll

Iona Della Bergdoll, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandma, age 87 of Windmill Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday morning, January 31, 2016 at her residence. Born April 7, 1928 at Durgon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Strite Eugene Crites and Ida (Crites) Crites. Her husband, Eldridge Scott Bergdoll preceded her in death in February 2007. An infant son Roger, five brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death. She attended the Boothill Community Church where she was Sunday School Teacher for many years. A homemaker, whom loved to bake cookies and pies and take them to the TriCounty fair where she won numerous ribbons, she never met a stranger and she enjoyed traveling to the area car shows with family. Surviving is a son Rosco E. (wife Sue) Bergdoll of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Frances M. (husband Larry) Funk of Purgitsville, WV and Judy D. (husband Billy) Jenkins of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Margel L. Shockey of Old Fields, WV; three grandchildren, Scotty, Tresa & Jared and five great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Keaton, Tiffani, Jessica & Cody. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Otha Hinkle, Wade Armentrout & Johnny Stump officiating. Interment will follow at the North Mill Creek Cemetery, Dorcas, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 4 & 6 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
