Hurl Garland Combs, age 70 of Jefferson Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, April 6, 2020, at the WVU’s Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born on December 19, 1949, in Winchester, VA, he was a son of the late Hurl Junior Combs and Hattie Madeline Gochenour Combs. He was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother and two sisters. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War was a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt, Post #9606 V.F.W, and the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion. Garland, was a truck driver for most of his life and was known as “Wild Man” over the airwaves.
Surviving is a brother, Roger Combs of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Judy (Ronnie) Eye of Old Fields, WV; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Inurnment services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Greenwood Cemetery, 6302 US 259 South, Baker, WV with Rev. Hershel Eason as officiant. Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard.
