Herman Ray Jake Wratchford, age 90 of South Elm Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, October 2, 2015 at his residence. Born December 23, 1924 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late James Russell Wratchford and Retha Victoria (Veach) Wratchford. He along with his wife was the owner/operator of J & M Service on Main Street for 25 years. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, was a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion and the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W. He was a Charter member of the Valley View Golf Course and a member of the Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F & A.M. Surviving is his loving wife of 68 years, Frances Maxine (Saville) Wratchford; a son H.J. & Maria Wratchford of Moorefield, WV; two grandchildren, Timothy & Pamela Wratchford of Mechanicsville, VA and Stephanie & Jay Vetter of Penn Laird, VA; five great grandchildren; a brother, Dwight Wratchford of Chambersburg, PA and two sisters, Polly W. Smith of Moorefield, WV and Bonnie W. Ellis of Baltimore, MD. A Memorial Service will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 3 PM Saturday prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
