Harold Edward Ratliff

Harold Edward Ratliff, age 67 of Oak Hill Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, September 20, 2005 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born April 2, 1938 in Hardy County, WV he was the son of the late Ira Ratliff and Catherine (See) Ratliff Weese. He was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, a brother and his step-father James Robert Weese. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion and a Lifetime member of the D.A.V., Post #29. He was retired from the General Motors Corp. after 30 years and was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren. Surviving is his wife, Mary Lou (Hedrick) Ratliff; a son, Harold David Ratliff of Huttonsville, WV; a step-daughter, Tracy H. Combs, Moorefield, WV; three sisters, Mary Collett of Moorefield, WV, Shirley Carter of Winchester, VA & Alice Flynn of Old Fields, WV; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2005, at the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, Route 55 East, Moorefield, with Pastor Donnie Knotts officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Gardens where Military Graveside Rites will be accorded by the US Army and the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield. Mr. Ratliff will be taken to the church 1 hour prior to services on Friday. A Veteran?s Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
