Guy "Pen" Hugh Delawder

Guy Hugh Pen Delawder, Sr., age 85 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2016 at his residence. Born April 18, 1931 at Cleavers Mountain Orchard, near Durgon, he was the son of the late James Edward Delawder and Estie Mae Evans Delawder. A retired farmer and heavy equipment operator, he was a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church. He was a US Amy veteran of the Korean War, a member of the 1st Calvary Division, 7th Calvary Regiment serving two tours, a Lifetime Member of the John M. Golliday, Post #64 American Legion and the Potomac Highlands Post #6454 V.F.W. He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and three sisters. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Bosley Delawder; a son, Joe & Melanie Delawder of Old Fields, WV; three daughters, Beatrice & Larry Shanholtz of Rio, WV, Retha Delawder of Moorefield, WV and Sonja & Harold Gircsis of Port Charlotte, FL; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Delawder of Baker, WV; eleven grandchildren; a step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Private Services will be held at a later date.
