Gladys Louise Sherman

Gladys Louise Sherman, age 76 of Myriah Drive, Martinsburg, WV, passed away Sunday evening, January 11, 2015 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Born November 10, 1938 in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Miller and Lillie Bryan (Runions) Miller. Her husband, Marvin Junior Sherman preceded her in death in February 2004. A son, Roger; a daughter, Pam; two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Pikeside United Methodist Church of Martinsburg, WV. A loving grandmother who adored her own grandchildren, she was often referred to as the neighborhood grandma, as children were always present. Her quiet time she spent crocheting and gardening, but most often with a jigsaw puzzle, a gift usually from her children. For excitement, she would tune into the TV game shows for many hours. Surviving are two sons, Steven & Christine Sherman of Inwood, WV and Timothy Sherman of Martinsburg, WV; a daughter, Teresa A. Folk of Inwood, WV; three sisters, Cornelia Miller and Helen Bierley of Moorefield, WV and Peggy Boblits of Essex, MD and five grandchildren, Alex Sherman, Erika Sherman, Lydia Sherman, Bowen Folk and Emma Sherman. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Dr. Ken Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Newhouse Cemetery, Rig Road, Moorefield, WV. The family will receive friends from 6 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
