George "Buck" Crites

George Marlin “Buck” Crites, age 83 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, February 4, 2024, at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA, with family at his side. Born on April 14, 1940 in Moorefield, WV, he was a son of the late Walter Ray Crites and Vivian Catherine Hardy Crites. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Lester, Willy & Frank Crites; step-brothers, Orval, Rob & Arlie Crites; sister, Mable Crites; step-sisters, Beulah & Ruth Crites; grandchildren, Larosia Heavner & Andrew Davis and great-grandson, Harry Bland.

George was a farmer and worked on the Williams farm in Old Fields for over 50 years. He loved the outdoors, spending his spare time hunting and fishing. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Nellie Marie Flanagan Crites; a son, Julius (Amber) Crites of Moorefield, WV; a step-daughter, Karen Heavner of Petersburg, WV; sisters, Barb Crites and Lucy Cook of Moorefield, WV; grandchildren, Karri (J.R.) Isner, Benjamin (Lana) Willard, Katelynn (Simon) Kisner, Shannon Judy, Natalie Lewis & Coye Lewis; great-grandchildren, Landon Davis, Augustina Davis, Octavia Willard & Jax Kisner along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

Buck has been cremated and services will be held at a later date.
