Genevieve Gaitress Southerly

Genevieve Gaitress Southerly, age 89 of Old Fields Road, Old Fields, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born June 17, 1927 in Old Fields, WV, she was a daughter of the late Richel Scott Kessel and Effie Lee Bosley Kessel. Her husband, Ronald Wayne Southerly preceded her in death in October 2014. Three infant children, a brother, Overton Kessel, two sisters, Kathleen Miller and Betty Helmick and a niece, Jean Helmick Miller also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Charity Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, watching game shows on TV and attending church. Surviving are three sisters, Louella Hose of Moorefield, WV, Rama Wolfe and Velda Wolfe of Old Fields, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Jimmy Stump, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. The family will receive friend from 4 6 PM Friday at the funeral home.
