Freda Lofton Branson

Freda Lofton Branson, age 72 of Moorefield WV passed away Friday evening, November 27, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown WV. She was born on August 26, 1948 in Keyser WV, a daughter of Homer Howard Lofton and Sadie Ellen (Sions) Lofton. Freda was the 11^th child of 13 children. On July 30, 1999 she married John David Branson who preceded her in death in May 2014. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Chester, Homer (Junior) and Jim Lofton and 4 sisters; Mildred and Eloise Lofton, Bernice See and Patricia Ottaviano.

She is survived by a brother, Elmer (Cecelia) Lofton of McLean, VA; four sisters, Lila See, Ada Alderman and Libby (Roger) Abel of Buckhannon, WV, Rose Sholes of Weston, WV. Niece and best friend Sheila (Roger) Champ of Moorefield WV and sister-in-law Debbie Lofton of Buckhannon WV. Several nieces and nephews. Her Branson family Wendy (Chuck) Adkins, Gina (John) Livingood and Johnny Buck (Wendy) Branson. Her extended family Josh and Morgan See and her little girls Darah and Margo.

Freda went to school in Buckhannon but after the family moved to Laurel, MD in 1965 she graduated from Laurel Senior High School in 1967.  She enjoyed being included in activities with BUHS class of 1967. She worked several years at the Colonial Hotel/Motel in Buckhannon WV before moving to Moorefield where she worked at Doug's Sport Shop and American Woodmark before retiring.

Freda loved her friends at Hardy County Health and Wellness Center where she pedaled away almost every morning on her special bike. She looked forward to Tuesday morning to see the little ones for Wiggle and Jiggle.

Her request was to be cremated with Grave side inurnment at Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, WV, 1:00 PM Saturday, December 12, 2020 with the Rev. Brad Taylor & Josh See as officiants.
