Franklin Short

Franklin Short, age 66 of Jenkins Run Rd., Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, April 6, 2009 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born June 29, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John A. & Ella Mae (Davis) Short. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt, Post#9606 V.F.W. Frank had worked at the Petersburg Tannery, Southern States, Moorefield High School as a janitor and retired in 2004 as Street Department Supervisor for the Town of Moorefield. He was the last member of his immediate family. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Delores (Iman) Short; a son Lawrence Short (wife Victoria) of Maysville, WV; four daughters, Jeanie Kimble (husband Tommie), Kathy Short, Donna Shockey (husband John) and Tressa Short (fianc Ricky See) all of Moorefield, WV; a brother-in-law, Bobby Iman of Moorefield, WV; twelve grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Otis ?Buzz? Weatherholt & Brother Aaron Davidson officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army and the Moorefield Veterans Honor Guard at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 -4 & 6 ? 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
