Floyd Franklin Shockey

Floyd Franklin Shockey, age 92 of South Fork Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday evening at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born July 26, 1913 in Moorefield, he was the son of the late Robert & Eliza (Hose) Shockey. Floyd was the last surviving member of his family and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witness of Moorefield. He had retired from the M.A. Bean Motor Co. after more than 35 years of service. He and his wife, Katie, were also the custodians for the South Branch Valley National Bank for over 17 years. He was preceded in death by one grandson, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Surviving is his loving wife of 66 years Katie (Wolfe) Shockey, five sons, Ray Shockey, Kenny Shockey, Paul Shockey, Roger Shockey and Harry Shockey all of Moorefield; four daughters, Charlotte Crites, Becky Shockey and Susie Whetzel all of Moorefield & Eleanor Orndorff of Columbia, MD; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2006 with Brother Christopher Ernst officiating at the Fraley Funeral. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 7 ? 9 PM Saturday at the Fraley Funeral Home.
