Evelyn Loraine Bowman, age 79 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday morning, April 4, 2025, at WVU’s Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV Born on July 13, 1945, in Winchester, VA, she was the loving daughter of the late Leonard Emmanuel Fishel and Goldie Wave See Fishel. Loraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Thomas “Tom” Bowman, III, and her sister, Mabel L. Strawderman.
Loraine was a vibrant spirit who touched the hearts of many. She had a passion for gardening, nurturing her annual flowers that brightened her home, and her crafty spirit brought joy to her and those around her. An outgoing and warm personality, she made countless friends among the staff and residents at Stonerise, where she brightened every room with her smile.
Surviving is a son Kevin M. Bowman of Barboursville, WV; a foster daughter, Loretta Hook of Brandywine, WV; two grandchildren; two foster grandsons and a host of friends and cousins who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street. Pastor Chris Lengel of the Mineral Baptist Church will officiate this heartfelt ceremony. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 PM until the service begins, as we share memories and honor Loraine’s remarkable life. Her inurnment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery.
