Elsie Jane Knaub

Elsie Jane Knaub, age 89 of Moorefield, WV formerly of Carlisle, PA, passed away Friday evening, December 31, 2010 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born September 29, 1921 in Shamokin Dam, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick & Harriet C. (Baum) Enterline. She was a member of the St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, a Red Hatter and was a member of the aquatic swim team at the local Y in Carlisle. Her first husband, Carson Shaffer Slear preceded her in death in May 1984 and her second husband, Glen Knaub preceded her in death in July 2006. Two brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving is a daughter, Sue Sprouse (husband John) of Moorefield, WV with whom she resided; a son, Barry L. Slear (wife Delores) of Carlisle, PA; five grandchildren and five great0grandchildren. Ms. Knaub has donated her body to the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University and services will be conducted at a later date.
