Eleanor Catherine Riffey

Eleanor Catherine Ketterman Riffey, age 83 of Winchester Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday afternoon, June 17, 2022 at the WV Caring Hospice House in Elkins, WV. Born on March 20, 1939 in the Durgon area of Hardy County, WV, she was a daughter of the late William Edward Ketterman and Vada Rebecca Simmons Ketterman, and step-mother, Virginia L. Fisher Ketterman. Her husband, Charles J. Riffey preceded her in death in December 2015. Two brothers, Dale and Glenn also preceded her in death.

Eleanor would by most standards be considered a workaholic; having walked to work most days, she put forth 100% and although she started her working career at the sewing factory in Petersburg, WV, she eventually retired from Pilgrim’s Pride after 59 ½ years. Not to let anything wait to later, she was always busy around her home, caring for and loving her cats and dogs.

Surviving are two sisters, Alice (Robert) Cross of Moorefield, WV and Hilda Raines of Brandywine, WV; three nieces, two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Graveside Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiants at the Olivet Cemetery.
