Edward Allen Sherman

Edward Allen “Eddie” Sherman, age 73 of Ogden Farm Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday morning, April 18, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital in Cumberland, MD. Born on October 25, 1949, in Moorefield, WV, he was a son of the late Irvin Lee Sherman and Mary Ann Parsons Sherman. A brother, Robert Sherman also preceded him in death.

A graduate of Moorefield High School Class of 1968, Eddie was a truck driver for most of his life, driving for Hester Industries for 31 years and M & M for a year before his final retirement. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors; sitting on the porch watching time fade with his cats by his side. His grandchildren were everything to him as they were the light of his life.

Surviving is his wife of 19 years, Wilma Lee Helmick Sherman; a daughter, Mindi D. (Kevin) Wetzel of Old Fields, WV; two brothers, William Sherman of Clayton, NC, and Gary Sherman of Rocky Mount, NC; three grandchildren, Ashley (Ed) McNeill, Tyler (Nick) Carro & Kevin “BooBoo” (Emily) Wetzel and three great-grandchildren, Harper, Kaylee & Clayton.

Funeral Services will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Howard officiant. Interment will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
