Edith Katherine Reel

Edith Katherine Sue Reel, age 98 of Dilly Street, Moorefield, WV passed away Tuesday evening, October 24, 2017 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on February 15, 1919 in Hardy Co., WV, she was a daughter of the late Adam Harvey Crites and Jo Ann Jenkins Crites. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, berry picking and canning her harvest. She would crack walnuts for the nuts to bake in the fall, loved caring for her grandchildren, reading her Bible and visits from the Pastor. Her husband, David V. Reel, preceded her in death in January 2000. Surviving are two sons, Darl V. Reel and fiancé Crystal Pannell of Moorefield, WV and Dale Reel of Moorefield, WV; six grandchildren, Leonard Pook & Kimberly Reel of Fisher, WV, Galen & Cara Reel, Tammy & Rev. Jack Turner, of Moorefield, WV, Kimberly & Delmas Whetzel of Arthur, WV, Darl Allen & Ruth of Moorefield, WV and Brian & Tena Reel of Brandywine, WV; fourteen great-grandchildren, Adam, Spencer, Brandon & Kinnsely Reel; Logan, Makalyn, Brylee & Gracin Reel; Danielle & Juan Zelaya; Dale Ray & Tim Turner; Delmas, Jr., Levi & Jacob Whetzel and Calie & Conner Reel; six great-great-grandchildren, Kiersten, David, Ali & Payden Reel; Newt Whistle Thompson and Anna Zelaya; and a brother-in-law, Darl L. Reel of Dorcas, WV. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Dooch, Kenneth, Tim, Edgar, John William & Robert Love; three sisters, Rosemary Sis Willis, Mary Ellen Abby Bergdoll & Lucille Ritchie; two daughter-in-laws, Brenda Reel & Nancy Reel and a great-great-grandson, Braxton Reel. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Rig Assembly of God Church with Pastors Brad Taylor & Rick Bergdoll officiating. Interment will follow in the Crites-Eye Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 7 PM Friday at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street in Moorefield.
