Edie Whetzel Crider, age 90 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, November 9, 2005, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born October 26, 1915 in Mathias, WV, she was the daughter of the late Millard & Sally (Wilkins) Whetzel. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church of the Brethren and was the owner and then operator of Crider?s Store on Branch Mountain for 58 years. Her husband, Irvin L. Crider, whom she married in December 1938, preceded her in death in November 1974. A son, a daughter, three step-sons, two step-daughters, five sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are, two sons, Ervin L. ?Pete? Crider, Jr. and wife Paula of Mathias, WV and Rodney Crider and wife Carol of Moorefield; a daughter, Sharon Mills and husband Elmer of Moorefield; two brothers, Boyd Whetzel of Broadway, VA and Carmel Whetzel of Ocean City, MD; a sister, Edna Summers of Broadway, VA; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 13, 2005, at the Salem Mennonite Church, Baker, WV with Pastor Otho Horst and Pastor James Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at the Asbury Cemetery, Bean Settlement, WV. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 8 PM Saturday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield. Mrs. Crider will be taken to the church 1 hour prior to services on Sunday.
