'Eddie' Champ

Charles Edwin ?Eddie? Champ, Jr., age 40 of Old Fields, WV, died February 12, 2007 as a result of a logging accident near Baker, WV. Born September 4, 1966 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of Charles E. Sr. & Dottie (Berg) Champ of Old Fields, WV. Eddie was a logger with C.E. Champ & Son Logging, operated a small band sawmill and hauled firewood throughout the area. He was a member of the WV Forestry Association, the National Wildlife Association and was a graduate of Hampshire High School Class of 1984. Surviving in addition to his parents is his wife, Diane (Ebie) Champ, whom he married September 10, 1988; two sons, Quinten Champ & Ethan Champ at home; a sister, Debra Ann Champ of Martinsburg, WV and several aunts & uncles. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2006 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren with Pastor Chris Whetzel officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 ? 4 & 6 ? 8 PM Thursday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Capon Valley Bank, PO Box 240, Moorefield, WV 26836 for a trust fund in the name of Quinten & Ethan Champ.
