Douglas Jay ?Whitey? Wolfe, age 64 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday afternoon March 27, 2009 at his residence. Born January 17, 1945 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late Ira and Lillian (Thomas) Wolfe. Mr. Wolfe was a construction contractor by trade and was the former owner of Wolfe?s Excavation. He was a member of Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F. & A.M., having served as Master, was a member, Scottish Rite Bodies and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Moorefield Eastern Star # 102, a member of the Moorefield MOOSE Lodge and a member of the Hardy County Rod & Gun Club where he created the yearly rattlesnake feed 39 years ago. He was a member of Bass United Methodist Church. Three brothers preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife, Joyce (Flinn) Wolfe of Moorefield; two daughters, Jill Wolfe of Martinsburg, WV & Kim Bergdoll and companion Robby Pyles of Romney, WV; a brother, Forrest ?Jungle? Wolfe of Moorefield, WV and three sisters, Marian W. Carpenter of Lewisville, NC, Eva Wolfe of Moorefield, WV and Wilma W. Roumel of Washington, DC. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Tuesday March 31, 2009 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Russell and Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Ira Wolfe Cemetery on Wolfe Mountain, Bass, WV with Masonic Grave Side Rites accorded by Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F. & A.M.. The family will receive friends at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel on Monday from 5 - 9 PM.
