Dorothy Lee Wilson

Dorothy Lee Wilson, age 74 of Cunningham Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday evening, March 7, 2021 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on March 30, 1946 in Petersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Alexander Evans and Virginia Lee Barr Evans. In addition to her parents, a brother, Leonard also preceded her in death.

Dorothy was retired from Hardy County Public schools as the Food Service Supervisor. She was a Past Matron and member of Moorefield Chapter #102, Order of the Eastern Star for over 30 years. She held many different stations and loved her star family and made many friendships. She enjoyed traveling across the state to grand visitations with Teresa.

Dorothy was also an avid bowler and card player: enjoying weekly card games with her dear friends, Dorothy, Tude, Sharon, her sister Francis, Lucy, and Sandra. She was exceptionally talented at crocheting and shared her beautiful doilies, Christmas tree skirts, and newborn outfits with those she loved. She also enjoyed spending her summers camping at the river with her family. She was very loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Surviving is her loving husband of 57 years, Vance Wilson; a daughter, DeeDee Sites (Joe Borror) of Moorefield, WV; two granddaughters, Shelly (Travis) Negley of Winchester, VA and Jeni Sites of Bunker Hill, WV; two great-grandsons, Evan & Levi and three sisters, Eleanor Baker of Short Gap, WV, Naomi (Dick) Southerly of Prince Frederick, MD and Frances Sherman of Moorefield, WV.

Friends may call from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street. Graveside Services will be conducted 11:30 AM Thursday at the Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Doyle Patch officiant, interment will follow.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, wearing of masks, temperature checks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home at all times.
