Dorothy Porter Hamilton

Dorothy Porter Hamilton, age 92 of N Elm Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday morning, May 27, 2020, at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on December 1, 1927 in Keyser, WV, she was the third child of the late John Henry Porter and Alta Fern Allamong Porter. Her husband, The Honorable John M. Hamilton, preceded her in death in March 1998. A son, two sisters, a brother and a daughter-in-law, Dixie also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #102. She had many interests and enjoyed painting, baking, politics, spending time with friends and family, flowers, shopping, crossword puzzles, and traveling. 

Surviving is a son, Mark Hamilton of Mt. storm, WV; a daughter, Susan J. (husband Dennis) Rogers of Lahmansville, WV; a grandson, John D. Rogers and two great-grandsons, Austin M. Rogers and Kason J. Rogers.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public visitation. Private graveside services will be held at the Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating and a service of remembrance will be held at a later date when restrictions ease.
