Donald Lee Jenkins

Donald Lee Jenkins, age 74 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, September 17, 2020 at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on October 22, 1945 in Hardy County, WV, he was a son of the late Charley William Jenkins and Minnie Dae Helmick Jenkins.

Donnie attended schools in Moorefield and he enjoyed listening to Gospel & Bluegrass music, on the radio or in public. A hobby musician, he enjoyed playing music or pickin’ on numerous instruments. An avid reader, he enjoyed reading the local newspapers along with his Bible, and he attended church services at the Grant Rehab & Care Center. The biggest highlights were cards or visits from family members he enjoyed so much.

Surviving is a brother, William “Bill” and wife Judy Jenkins of Moorefield, WV; three aunts, Betty Whetzel, Nancy Myers and Helen Delawder all of Moorefield, WV ; numerous cousins and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Johnnie Stump officiant. Interment will follow.

The family would like to extend a “Special Thanks” to all of the nurses, CNA’s, aides and staff who were responsible for his care for almost seven years.
