"Dick" Dayton

Richard Hayward ?Dick? Dayton, age 66, of High Knob Road, Old Fields, WV passed away Sunday evening, January 4, 2004 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born August 22, 1937 in Keyser, WV he was a son of Nina (Johnson) Dayton of Old Fields, WV and the late Hayward F. Dayton. A sister, Barbara Lewis also preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was retired from the US Navy Reserve. He was a member of the White Pine Church of the Brethren. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Nancy L. (Berg) Dayton and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at the White Pine Church of the Brethren, Purgitsville, WV, with Pastor Allen Murlin & Rev. Stephen Landis officiating. Interment followed with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Navy and the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard at the Fout Cemetery, Old Fields, WV.
