Diane Elizabeth Snyder

Diane Elizabeth Ward Snyder passed away at her home in Fisher, WV on Wednesday afternoon August 4^th, 2021. She was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on January 27^th, 1945, the daughter of the late Alvin Edwin Ward, Sr. and Minnie Beatrice (Woollacott) Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Alvin E. Ward Jr. and a great-grandson Blake Sherfey.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 57 years, Rev. Charles Curtis Snyder; six sons, Brian K. Snyder (Cathy) Moorefield, WV, Troy C. Snyder (Kim) Fisher, WV, Roy B. Snyder (Cathy) Elkton, VA, Jefferey C. Snyder (Natasha) Fisher, WV, Pastor Steven P. Snyder (Jaennae’) Fisher, WV, and Martin E. Snyder (Hilary) Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Allison Snyder Riggleman (Chris) North Chesterfield, VA, and Mary Snyder Weir (Lu) Fisher, WV; thirty-three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Snyder was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of The Calvary Baptist Temple in Rig, WV.

A pastor’s wife much of her life, she taught Sunday school and many vacation Bible schools over the years. She would want everyone to know she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now; having a grand reunion with her loved ones that have passed before her. Mrs. Snyder spent her free time for many years visiting church members at their homes or in the nursing homes and hospitals. She is what folks would call a “Prayer Warrior”.

After her children were grown, she was a dental assistant at Fisher Family Dentistry and was a teachers aid primarily at Moorefield Elementary School.

Mrs. Snyder was a lifelong animal lover and in her younger years loved riding horses and always had a dog at her side, Masie being her last.

The family will receive friends on Monday August 9^th, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Temple, 5487 Rig Road, Moorefield, WV from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM with her son, Pastor Steven P. Snyder, officiant. Interment will follow at Kessel Cemetery for immediate family and their children.
