Denver John Bergdoll, age 94, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his residence in Fisher, WV. He was born February 25, 1917 in Dorcas, WV, the tenth child of the late John George Bergdoll and Hannah Susan Hedrick Bergdoll. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Vernon Lucia Crites Bergdoll in August 1991. A grandson, four sisters, five brothers, and a special friend Rose Hardy also preceded him in death. Denver is survived by one son, John Bergdoll and his wife Glenda of Hilltop Lakes, TX; two daughters, Wanda Campbell and husband James "Will" of Middletown, OH, Susan Marker and husband Randy of Martinsburg, WV; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a special family friend and caregiver, Presley "Pete" Patterson. Denver served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was employed as a truck driver, a tanner, and a self-employed farmer. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with funeral services conducted at 11:00 AM with Pastors Rebecca Van Stavern, Becky Bennett, and David Simmons officiating. Internment will follow at the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV.
