Delmas Wilbur Ours, age 59 of Mt. View Road, Purgitsville, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, September 29, 2021 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital in Romney, WV, after a 3+ year, courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. A farmer is one who is strong minded, has a big heart and plenty of patience. A farmer usually has a passion for the land that most will never know or understand, and the legacy of that land that has been passed on. Delmas was this kind of farmer, a man who loved the land and the bounty upon which he reaped. Most remember his jokester passion for life, a man who loved his home, his family as well as hunting but most of all his true work ethic. He truly was a lifelong farmer.

Shockey Ours; a daughter, Brittany Lee (John) Winslow of Moorefield, WV; a son, Ethan Welton (Lacy) Ours of Purgitsville, WV; grandchildren, Rilynn Jae Ours and   Jackson Delmas Winslow; five brothers; Roscoe Ours, Larry Ours, James Ours, Randy Ours & Michael Ours all of Purgitsville, WV; five sisters, Carol Ours of Moorefield, WV; Arletta  Miller & Esther Runions of Purgitsville, WV, Mary Barb of Old Fields, WV and Nancy Schwebel of Philadelphia, MS and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
