David Allen Mongold

David Allen Mongold, age 51 of South Fork Road, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, July 30, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA with his family at his side. Born on October 29, 1966 in Winchester, VA, he was a son of Paul Edgar Mongold, Jr. and Helen Louise Bean Mongold of Baker, WV. David was preceded in death by a brother Christopher Mongold and a sister, Paula Mongold. He was an operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 132 for 30 years and was a certified crane operator. David was talented and creative in engineering home repairs. He enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting with his family and was an Advanced Open Water Diver with over 600 dives recorded. David was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed attending and coaching both of his sons sporting interests and was a member of the Believers Victory Center. Surviving in addition to his parents is his loving wife of 20 years, Melanie Gaye Gapp Mongold; two sons, Matthew Paul Mongold and Kennan DAllen Mongold at home; two sisters, Cindy Park of Baker, WV and Gail Kile of Old Fields, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 6:00 PM, Friday August 3, 2018 at Believers Victory Center, 160 Victory Lane, Moorefield, WV with Pastor Chris Whetzel as officiant.
