On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, Charles Kenneth “K” Strickler loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 75 at his residence in Moorefield. “K” was born on August 26, 1944 in Petersburg, WV, a son of the late Frank William Strickler and Frances Louella McRobie Strickler. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother Frankie Ray Strickler, a sister Charlotte Peck, and a brother Johnny Harness.
“K” started working at an early age in the construction field alongside his father and later retired as an operator with 50 years in the Local #132, Operating Engineers Union. He married Carolyn Louise Bean Strickler, a farmer’s daughter, on August 23, 1967. He helped out on the family farm and eventually taking over its operation. He spent the last 20 years expanding the cattle herd with registered Angus cattle. “K” loved horses; he rode; competed and trained for many years. He had a soft spot when it came to animals and helped out with many of the Potomac Highland Animal Rescue creatures big and small.
Surviving is loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn L. Bean Strickler; a son Shane Kenneth (wife, Melissa Barger) Strickler of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Kriston Michelle Strickler of Moorefield, WV; a grandson, Garrett Strickler and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street in Moorefield.
