Charles "Buddy" Eye

Charles Bradley Buddy Eye, age 83 of Central Avenue, Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday evening, August 8, 2017 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born on June 1, 1934 in Pendleton Co., WV, he was a son of the late Charles Curtis Eye and Lynn Mozelle Calhoun Eye. He was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F & A.M. and a Charter Member of the Valley View Golf Club, and an avid golfer. A daughter, Jody Ellen Barr preceded him in death. Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Elaine Welton Eye; two daughters, Lisa L. Eye-Mangini of Rosemont, MD and Amy B. Eye of Moorefield, WV; four grandchildren, Jacy E. Barr, Brandon J. Barr, Dylan L. Mangini and Joseph Charles Mangini; a great-granddaughter, Raylee Dawn Mangini; a sister, Maxine E. Burgoyne of Upper Tract, WV and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Buddy had a lifelong career in the poultry industry starting with the WV Department of Agriculture and retiring from Hester Industries as Vice President of Production. He was a member of the WV Poultry Association and was instrumental in planning the annual Poultry Golf Tournament. He had a knack for organizing a good time enjoyed by many. Buddy was an active member of the community and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. He spent many Saturdays barbecuing chicken at the Town Park and made the sweetest corn on the cob at the golf course cookouts. Happy and fun loving until the end, Buddy will be missed and loved by his family and all who knew him.
