Catherine Virginia Pratt

Catherine Virginia Crites Pratt, age 89 of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully Sunday morning, December 30, 2018 at Sarah House in Ormond Beach. Born on June 18, 1929 in Kessel, WV, she was the second child of five other siblings of the late Kennie Crites and Bessie Irene Reel Crites. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arno Leroy Pratt in June 1997. A son, Randy Pratt, brothers, Emory and Frank and sister, Sue also preceded her in death.

Married in 1947, she moved to Guilford, MD in 1952 where she was a homemaker and raised four children. She loved working in her garden and canning her vegetables each year. On their small farm they had horses, chickens and pigs that they raised.

Weekends they would return to Moorefield where they enjoyed her family. These were very special times for her. As with her own family, she always welcomed everyone into her home without hesitation. She will be remembered for her kind and soft spoken soul.

She is survived by three of her children, Donnie, Patsy and Barbara (Joe); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Harold George officiating. Interment will follow next to her husband and son at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.
