Carl Edward Ting Sindy, age 65 of Chipley Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2013 at his residence. Born January 15, 1948 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Kathryn Bell (Thomas) Southerly. A half-sister, Elizabeth Wooten preceded him in death. A self-employed equipment operator for many years, he was seen often on his John Deere backhoe around Moorefield. Ting was a US Marine Corps Veteran (Lance Corporal) of the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt, Post #9606 V.F.W.; a member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion; a member of the 40 & 8 Hardy County Voiture #1623; a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, McNeills Rangers Camp #582; and the Moorefield Lodge # 29 A.F. & A.M. Surviving are two daughters, Connie E. Sherman of Old Fields, WV and Rebecca S. Brown of Savannah, GA; his grandchildren, Adam Sherman and Maryn Brown; his significant other, Peggy Stump; three half-brothers, Melvin Southerly of Lima, OH, Donnie Southerly of Old Fields, WV and Johnnie Southerly of Moorefield, WV. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM, Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Chris Whetzel officiating.
