Betty Vivian Miller

December 7, 1935 — November 18, 2008

Betty Vivian Miller, age 72 of Purgitsville, WV, passed from this life into her new life with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2008 at the Heartland Nursing and Rehab Center in Keyser, WV, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 7, 1935 to the late Vance Welch and Bernice (Coffman) Welch of Antioch, WV and was also preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Kesner and a daughter-in-law, Christine Miller. Betty is a long time member of the Worldwide Church of God attending the Cumberland congregation and more recently attended a church close to her home, Believers Victory Center. She lived in Baltimore for thirty years and worked fifteen years as a children?s aide in the Baltimore City Public Schools. Since returning to West Virginia, she worked as an aide for the Hampshire County Committee on Aging (HCC on Aging from 1988 to 1993) and until her illness, she worked as a supervisor coordinator at the Harris Community Care, Inc. (HCCI) since 1993. She was a very loving and caring person to her family, friends and the communities where she worked and will be missed by all. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Donald Ray Miller, two sons, Robert Ray Miller of Purgitsville, WV, Donald Ray Miller, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Baltimore, MD, two daughters, Donna Jean Colangelo, husband, Peter and daughter, Christa of Baltimore, MD, Katherine Heslop, husband Gale and son Andrew of Baltimore, MD, a brother, Vernon Welch and wife Cynthia of Swanton, MD, three nephews, four nieces and many cousins. The family will receive friends at Fraley Funeral Chapel, 107 Washington St., Moorefield, WV, on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Peter Whitting of Worldwide Church of God officiating. According to her wishes, Betty will be cremated after the service.
