Betty Pilgrim McNeill

Betty Pilgrim McNeill, 86, of Harrisonburg, VA, formerly of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 in Harrisonburg, VA. She was born on October 18, 1928 in Winchester, VA and was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Zula (Miley) Pilgrim. Mrs. McNeill graduated from high school in Wardensville, WV and from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. She taught biology in Berkley, Grant and Hardy counties in West Virginia and McLean High School in McLean, VA. She was a former member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church where she taught the Womens Bible Class. Most recently she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, VA. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas B. McNeill Sr. of Harrisonburg, VA.; one son, Thomas B. McNeill Jr. and wife Nancy, and grandson Adam C. McNeill of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Meredith Chapel in the Sunnyside Retirement Community, Harrisonburg, VA with the Rev. Paul O Gorek officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00pm Thursday at the Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield WV.
