Betty Jean McDonald

Betty Jean Simmons McDonald, age 81 of Lee Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday evening, January 25, 2010 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born September 20, 1928 in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late William F. & Dora Belle (Miller) Wilson. She was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #64, a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #9606, a member of the AARP chapter #4304, a member of the Old Fields CEOS and a member of the Democratic Women?s Club. Her first husband, Glade J. Simmons preceded her in death in August 1980 and her second husband, Ray E. McDonald preceded her in death in May 1987. A daughter-in-law, Barbara (Fitzwater) Simmons, a grandson, Jay Michael Simmons, two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. Surviving is a son, Michael J. Simmons (wife Donna) of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Louise N. Wise of Leavittsburg, OH; a brother, Bill Wilson of Warren, OH and two grandchildren, Crystal & Shawn. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with the Rev. Jay Parkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Newhouse Cemetery at Rig, WV. The family will receive friends from 6 ? 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
