Bessie Lee Koontz

Bessie Lee Koontz, age 99 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2006, at the E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born September 25, 1907 in Grant Co., WV, she was a daughter of the late John & Martha (O?Brien) George. She was a homemaker and attended the Moorefield Church of the Brethren. Her husband, Lester W. Koontz preceded her in death in January 1988. Two sons, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, three sisters and a brother also preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Oscar George of Harpers Ferry, WV, Malin Koontz of Petersburg, WV and William Koontz of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Dora Wratchford & Bonnie Hartman of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Erza George of Headsville, WV; a sister, Retha George of Elkins, WV; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with the Rev. Nicholas Yurcaba officiating. Interment will follow at the Scott Cemetery, Durgon area of Moorefield. The family will receive friends from 5 ? 8 PM Monday at the Fraley Funeral Home.
