Bernard Mitchell Polan

Bernard Mitchell Polan, age 83 of Wright Farm Road, Old Fields, WV, passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2020 at his residence with family at his side. Born on April 12, 1937 in Doddridge County, WV, he was a son of the late Charles Floyd Polan and Clara Collins Polan McClain. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Bernard was a U.S. Army veteran who enjoyed fishing. He loved time with his children and grandchildren and relished mowing the grass on his farm.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Doris Jean Holland Polan; three sons, Mitchell Polan of Savage, MD, Ricky Polan of Elkridge, MD and Kevin T. Polan of Paw Paw, IL; a daughter, Brenda Taylor of Moorefield, WV; a sister, Karen Davis of Columbus, SC; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends on the family farm that Bernard loved so much.
