Barbara Jean Hefner, age 89, of Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, May 21, 2015 at the E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. She was born May 22, 1925, in Bloomington, Indiana, a daughter of the late Oda Meadows Poore and Perry Franklin Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Gordon B. Hefner, and her sister, Georgia Sparks. She is survived by her son, Gordon Russell Hefner of Fairfax, VA; two brothers-in-law, Raymond C. Hefner and Tommie L. Hefner, sister-in-law Mary Alice Shobe (husband Landon) and sister-in-law Esther Jean Hefner, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hefner was the owner and operator of Barbaras Donut Shop in Moorefield in the 1970s. She was also co-owner of Bar-Lo Ford and Bar-Lo Trucking in the 1970s and 1980s. She retired from Wampler-Longacre Foods in the 1990s. She was a past Grand Matron of the Moorefield Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastors Russell & Lucy Webster officiating. Interment will follow at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM..
