Anna R. Kuykendall

Anna Rebecca Kuykendall, age 88, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Mercy House Hospice, Chambersburg, PA. She was born May 18, 1936, in Old Fields, WV the daughter of the late George William McDonald and Lula May Shears McDonald. Her husband, Melvin Kuykendall died in 1984. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Jacoby, and brothers and sisters; Louise Shockey, William McDonald, Charles McDonald, Mary Zirk and Loretta Hose.

 For over 20 years Anna was a housekeeper at Green Acres Nursing Home in Gettysburg until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching TV Western’s. But most of all she loved time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

 Surviving is four sons: Melvin Kuykendall, Jr. and his wife Carol Hedrick of Gettysburg, PA, Jimmy Kuykendall and his wife Sharon of Orrtanna, PA, Michael Kuykendall and his wife Tammy of Orrtanna, PA, Scott Kuykendall of Gettysburg, PA, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a sister, Ramona Master of Petersburg, WV

 Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2024, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Fisher, WV with Pastor Michael Funkhouser officiating. A visitation will be held at the church the same day beginning at 1PM. Interment will be in Hutter-Woerner Cemetery. 

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. 

  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mercy House Hospice, 730 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
