Ann Simmons Davidson Miller, age 87 of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 13, 2011 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV, where she had been a resident for approximately 9 years. Ann was born January 30, 1924 in Hardy Co., WV, a daughter of the late Charles Clinton and Sadie Rae (Cook) Simmons. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by 3 sisters, and 7 brothers, her former husband Arno L. Davidson, a great grandson Jon Lewis, and a son-in-law Carlton Newhouse. Ann is survived by her daughters: Judy Newhouse of Orange Park, FL; Frances Stickley (Gene) of Moorefield, WV; Patricia Hershberger (Ron) of Ft. Ashby, WV; and her son Jeffrey Miller (Luella) of Wiley Ford, WV. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Lynn Tappan of Orange Park, FL; Carla Cassidy (Billy) of Gainesville, FL; Michael Newhouse (Wendy) of Charles Town, WV; Brian Stickley (Barbie) of Fisher, WV, Matthew Marker (Laurie) of Ft. Ashby, WV; Michael Hershberger (Kim) of Ft. Ashby, WV; Kenneth Hershberger (Jilla) of Cumberland, MD; Sean Twigg (Renee) of Keyser, WV; Brandon Twigg (Jessica) of Frostburg, MD; twenty-five great-grandchildren: Kayla, Katheryn, & Jacob Stickley of Fisher, WV; Justin Kleczak, Jordin & Jensen Marker of Ebensburg, PA; Amanda Rhodes of Orange Park, FL; Jacob Cassidy of Gainesville, FL; Taylor, Gavin, & Brenley Hershberger of Cumberland, MD; Cassie, Jennifer, & Josh Hershberger of Ft. Ashby, WV; Ben, Jacob, Evan, Noah, Harley Twigg of Keyser, WV, Josh, Myles & Isabella Newhouse of Charles Town, WV and Chaz, JC & Ashleigh Muse of Ft. Ashby, WV. Ann was also blessed with three great-great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Isaac, & Izondro Rhodes. She is also survived by a sister, Juanita Schoolcraft; and a brother, Don Cook, both of Portsmouth, VA, along with numerous nieces & nephews. Ann was a member of the Tannery Chapel, Moorefield Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of Women?s Circle of the church. Ann was proud to have earned her GED & graduated along with the class of 1978 of Moorefield High School. She was an accomplished cook, baker, seamstress, crafts person, gardener; she loved her family and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Katherine C. Jackson officiating.
