Sunset for Allen Delmar Barr was February 22, 2018. He was ushered by angels into Heaven at his home in Old Fields, WV while under the care of Hospice. His sunrise was February 4, 1935 at Bass, WV; a son of the late Charlie Marion Barr and Rosa Fisher Crites Barr. He was raised by his loving grandfather Edgar Judy Crites on Crites Mountain at Old Fields. Besides his parents, he was predeceased in his homegoing by the mother of his children, Dotty Vance Barr; his eldest daughter, Donna Darlene Barr; his brother, John W. Barr and wife Armeda Evans Barr. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War as a Military Policemen stationed in France for most of his tour of duty. He retired from Abex-Federal Mogul after thirty-two years and eight months. During this time he served as a Committeeman for 11 years in Local U.A.W 149. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; a son, Allen D. Barr, Jr. and wife Patty of Clearbrook, VA; a daughter, Michelle Bock and husband David of Winchester, VA. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Cody Allen Barr, serving in the U.S. Army in Kansas, Cierra Gail Barr of Clearbrook, VA and Brandy Bock of Winchester; a niece, Leah Lizabeth Seay and husband Sam of Baltimore, MD; a special great-nephew, Asa Seay. He leaves behind his three special furry friends, Tom, Carmaleta and Midnight. Friends will be received at the Moorefield Church of God, 223 S. Elm Street, Moorefield, WV from 4 8 PM Sunday, February 25, 2018. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Moorefield Church of God with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore and the Rev. Johnny Stump officiating.
